The Zones in Jim Corbett National Park

The park is profoundly known as the only national park of India that is adobe to the endangered Bengal tiger of India. Not just that, what makes it even more unique is the fact that this park also allows visitors to stay overnight in accommodation inside the park. So, with a point of view of safety and other reasons the park is divided into different forest regions. The names of the regions are Dhikala, Jhirna, Bijrani, Durga Devi etc.

So, in this blog, we show you the 4 different zones and give you some information about those zones. Let us start.

  • Dhikala Zone-

Dhikala zone in the park is the largest zone and this serves as a great hub for the visitors of the park. A gate named Dhangadi Gate is there at the entry point. After entering inside the Dhikala Zone from this gate you can see wildlife species like Tigers, Elephants, Chital, Deer, Reptiles, Cobra, Crocodile, birds, vulture, Dove and various others. November (mid) to June (mid) is the most appropriate time to visit the park.

  • Jhirna Zone-

This zone is only 16 km from the core of Ramnagar. This newly introduced zone is very well connected to all the city limits. We can easily reach by bus, taxi or any other mode of transport. The zone is differently picturesque and one of the ideal spot to watch bears and click some good pictures. The gate for entry here is known as Jhirna and is also the best to visit from October to June end.   • Durga Devi Zone-

WHen you will enter the Gate park, you will be in the Durgadevi zone with ample number of avifauna. It is a true paradise for the bird lovers.   • Bijrani Zone-

The nature lovers who crave to witness the various zones of distinct floral species of the park, this is the best zone for them. It is one of the zones where you must go. It is only 1 km away from Ramnagar. If you want to see, you can spot the wildlife at its best in this zone. There are Elephants, Tiger, Cheetal, Deer, Monkeys and a lot of beautiful birds.

  • Sitabani Zone-

This even though does not come under the limits of the main park; it continues to attract a lot of visitors throughout the year because of how tranquil it is.

  • Dhela Safari Zone

It is around 13 km from Ramnagar and remains open all year round.
